Care, costs & the small print
Cagrilintide injections: what’s real, and what costs?
A plain-language guide to understanding the drug, checking a care offer and asking where the money goes.
Before the price question
As of September 28, 2026, FDA, the US drug agency, had not approved cagrilintide or CagriSema, a shot containing cagrilintide and a second medicine.
In September 2026, FDA also said federal law did not allow pharmacies to mix or make their own cagrilintide medicine.
Is there a real treatment behind the name?
Cagrilintide is a lab-made version of amylin, a hormone linked to feeling full after food.
Researchers are testing cagrilintide for weight loss, on its own and with another medicine, semaglutide, the ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy. The two medicines together are called CagriSema.
Those names are easy to blur together. Keep them separate when reading a result or a care offer.
Open the source note
A result for the combination does not become a result for cagrilintide alone.
What is the price of cagrilintide?
There was no official cagrilintide or CagriSema price on September 28, 2026, because neither had an approved product in the US.
A number on a page still needs an explanation. Ask which product it covers, who makes it, and what is billed on top.

Check that the exact product is approved before comparing prices.
Where can I start without a sales pitch?
Start with a health visit and your own questions. Bring the product name that caught your eye. Ask about care that fits your health, then ask for the costs in writing.
