What is cagrilintide?
Cagrilintide is a long-lasting medicine made in a lab to copy amylin, a body chemical involved in feeling full. It is being tested for weight loss.
Amylin is released when you eat and plays a part in fullness and how fast food leaves the stomach.

CagriSema combines cagrilintide with another medicine, semaglutide, the ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy.

Can a normal prescription get it?
On September 28, 2026, no cagrilintide product had approval from FDA, the US drug agency, for a pharmacy to dispense.
At that date, FDA also said pharmacies could not mix or make their own cagrilintide medicine, a process called compounding.
